Brothers Francis and Moyses Howard, born in Rio de Janeiro, form Incubus in Louisiana and move the band to Tampa in 1990, the year Nuclear Blast releases Beyond the Unknown. Mike Browning plays with them briefly. The name changes to Opprobrium around 1998 after the California rock band Incubus takes off.
